Humane Society Naples, Southwest Florida’s premier animal shelter and adoption center, is looking to for a database specialist to join our growing Community Affairs team. The database specialist/development associate is responsible for maintenance of Humane Society Naples’ donor database, including daily data entry, acknowledgement preparation and report creation, as well as other general development needs in the department. The right candidate is extremely detail oriented, meticulous with records and always looking to improve processes. Must be trustworthy and capable of handling sensitive financial information with the utmost care and discretion. Humane Society Naples is looking at new database solutions. This person would be integral in the implementation of any change in software.

Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience with data entry and database management
Knowledge of donor management/cultivation software such as Raiser’s Edge, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect
Self-starter who works well on both individual and team projects
Basic understanding of fundraising principles
Positive attitude and love of animals
Interact with data system vendor and other vendors that require data from and/or interface with the database.
Ensure data system is accurate, current and meets all audit requirements.
Ensure the database and operations support the Humane Society Naples’ goals and strategies
Ensure all data is entered in a timely, accurate manner and that gifts are appropriately acknowledged.
Ensure the quality of all lists and reports for Humane Society Naples.
Support and provide ongoing training to users, ensuring optimum and efficient use of the system.
Help with other development team initiatives including special events, annual fund, direct mail as needed.
