ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to the following:
Support activities of the Community Relations Department to cultivate volunteers and donors.
Support Christmas card project, golf tournament, blueberry gleaning, farm tours, and any additional projects or events that Community Relations is tasked with coordinating.
Research foundation and corporate grant applications, share with agency funding committee, and maintain Agency Funding calendar.
Support grant applications (writing, editing, collecting data, meeting with program staff to identify goals/deliverables, attend community funder meetings/trainings).
Oversee, update and maintenance donor database (i.e. Raisers Edge); ensure data integrity and prepare reports.
Accurately input ALL gifts received into Raisers Edge daily.
Set up and train new users on use of Raisers Edge and provide troubleshooting.
Work with CR team to generate, review and mail out accurate and meaningful thank you/ acknowledgement letters within 48-72 hours of gift receipt.
Gather and prepare content for bi-monthly e-blasts and social media.
Work with vendors connected to Community Relations projects
Organize/maintain office files (paper and digital), manage incoming phone calls, and prepare regular and bulk mailings.
Support Community Relations with other duties as assigned.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty element satisfactorily while exercising independent judgment, discretion and initiative under the leadership of the Director of Community Relations. The requirements listed are a representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The individual must meet age, medical, moral, character and any other requirements as defined by Florida Statutes. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor Degree in Education, Communications, Development, Public Relations and three years experience in community relations, grant writing or fund raising. Experience writing grants, organizing events and work experience in nonprofit organizations desired. Some experience with databases and a desire, ability and commitment to learn how to manage RCMA's RE database.
OTHER: Able to work flexible hours, occasional evenings and varying daytime shifts during weekdays. Some weekend work required.
Must have or be able to obtain a Florida driver's license, have a driving record acceptable to RCMA's insurance carrier and travel extensively throughout the state.
